The Salon at Lucia Mar
We are accepting adult students to start classes covering everything you need to prepare for the licensing examination. Our students will receive hands-on instruction and practical experience.
Program Prerequisites:

Students must turn 18 years of age before the completion of the program

Students must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; or be concurrently enrolled in Lucia Mar Adult Education’s high school diploma program

Students who are presently attending high school may be eligible for enrollment in a CTE program dependent upon administrative review

Students must have a valid form of identification AND a social security card

Students must be able to speak, read, and write English, 10th-grade reading level is recommended by the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology

You will have a timeframe of 2 years to complete 1000 hours of instruction. In case you have to leave the program for any reason, you will be required to pay a reprocessing fee to rejoin the program. Please note that we cannot hold your spot once you leave the program, as space may be limited.

Quarter 3: January 16, 2024 - March 22, 2024 (37 days) (111 hours)
Quarter 4: March 25, 2024 - June 7, 2024 (39 days) (117 hours)
Summer: June 10, 2024 - August 15, 2024 (38 days) (114 hours)
2024/2025 School Year
Monday-Thursday 4:00 PM-7:00 PM
Quarter 1: August 19, 2024 - October 11, 2024 (31 days total) (93 hours)
Quarter 2: October 14, 2024 - December 20, 2024 (35 days total) (105 hours)
Quarter 3: January 13, 2025 - March 21, 2025 (37 days total) (111 hours)
Quarter 4: March 24, 2025 - June 6, 2025 (40 days total) (120 hours)
Summer: June 9, 2025 - August 14, 2025 (39 days total) (117 hours)
**If a student attends 3 hours per day, the total amount of hours achieved at the end of the 4 quarters would be (2024/2025) 429 hours.
**Summer would approximately equal 115 hours
**Students need to achieve 1000 hours to graduate

Students wishing to enroll in the Cosmetology Career Technical Education program may register online. All Career Technical Education program students must show proof of a high school diploma or equivalent to enroll or sign up for concurrent enrollment in the Adult Education course.
