Gifford Fire
The Gifford Fire, which continues to burn in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. We are in close contact with the Office of Emergency Services to monitor the situation. While some of our families are in evacuation areas, none of our schools are currently impacted. We will continue to monitor conditions and keep you informed as needed. Additionally, we are watching our air quality closely and will follow county safety guidelines to protect the health of our students and staff.

California Fire Foundation (SAVE Program): Provides gift cards for evacuees with damaged homes. The SAVE card is a $250 gift card given to eligible survivors of fire and natural disasters by firefighters on scene who are enrolled in the SAVE program. This allows survivors to purchase basic necessities such as food, clothing, gas, medicine, or a place to stay the night in the immediate aftermath of a house fire. San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara County Fire Departments are both enrolled in this program. Families should contact the firefighters on scene to see if they are eligible.
Horse Emergency Evacuation Team (HEET) of SLO County - If you need help evacuating your animals please call (805) 466-7457. If you have a trailer and are available to help evacuate livestock from the Lopez or Huasna area please call of text (805) 550-0213.
Varian Equestrian Center - (805) 664-1401 Will take in animals from Lopez and Huasna areas as well as offering dry camping.
Disaster Help Center - Department of Social Services provides information and resources regarding public assistance and services available to individuals and families impacted by California wildfires and other natural disasters or emergencies.
