California Healthy Kids
Once again, the Lucia Mar Unified School District is fortunate to partner with the SLO County Behavioral Health-Friday Night Live (FNL) Programs to assist with the administration of the California Healthy Kids Survey.
The purpose of this survey is to obtain information from the students about their knowledge, attitudes and behavior about things that affect learning. It deals with such issues as truancy, safety, harassment, substance use, school connectedness, and learning supports. LMUSD is also collecting information to meet requirements of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).
Student participation is very important and voluntary. The information provided will help guide district and school efforts to promote safety, enhance learning supports, improve student achievement, and reduce health risks that stand as barriers to learning. The survey can be completed in one class period and should take approximately 35 minutes.
LMUSD is also offering the Parent School Climate Survey. Parents.guardians/caregivers will have an opportunity to complete a brief, 10 minute, survey regarding factors that affect student learning at their student's school(s). This survey will be offered online and can accessed through any device with internet capabilities.
PERMISSION SLIPS: Families will receive permission slips in early February.
5th grade students: Families MUST return the permission slip indicating if their student can or cannot participate in the survey.
7th, 9th and 11th grade students and continuation high school students: Families MUST return the permission slip if they DO NOT want their student to participate in the survey.
Schools will administer the survey ONLINE only. A paper option is not available.
