Student Safety & Support
As a school district, our highest priority is providing a safe environment for students to learn.
Equity and Diversity
Like everyone across our nation, Lucia Mar’s students, staff, and the community we serve are shocked and saddened by the events unfolding-beginning with the senseless violence inflicted upon Mr. George Floyd.
At this time we wish to reaffirm our commitment to equity and diversity--these core values drive our work in Lucia Mar.
The Lucia Mar Board of Trustees and District Leadership believe that the diversity that exists among the district’s community of students, staff, parents/guardians, and community members is integral to the district’s vision, mission, and goals. In order to eradicate institutional bias of any kind, including implicit or unintentional biases and prejudices that affect student achievement, and to eliminate disparities in educational outcomes for students from historically underserved and underrepresented populations, the district will continue to proactively identify class and cultural biases as well as practices, policies, and institutional barriers that negatively influence student learning, perpetuate achievement gaps, and impede equal access to opportunities for all students.
