Employee Safety

Employees are encouraged to continually assess their work environment for hazards, inspect their tools and equipment before use, be aware of other safety issues, and report any problems in writing to their supervisor utilizing a Safety Concern/Suggestion form located here:

Please report any safety hazards to Michael Dixon (District Safety Coordinator) or Lorena Castaneda (Facilities/Construction Secretary) in Facilities, Maintenance, & Operations immediately.

District Safety Incentive Program

The District Safety Committee and School Insurance Program for Employees (SIPE) are working together to provide employees with an opportunity to win Amazon Gift Cards through participation in the District's Safety Incentive Program.

The program aims to increase awareness of safety issues and procedures while reducing accident and injury costs. Each month, a fun safety quiz will be emailed to all District employees. Those who answer all questions correctly will be entered to win prizes selected via a random number generator by the Safety Committee.

For more information, please contact Lorena Castaneda at (805) 474-3000 Ext. 1032.

Originally known as the Self Insurance Program for Employees, SIPE is a joint powers authority established in 1977 to manage workers’ compensation claims for member agencies. It supports risk management, safety, and loss control through research and responsive service.
